We first visit the water gardens at Gooderstone – four linked ponds, thirteen brides and a trout stream covering six acres of pathed meadows, rich in damp-tolerant plants. e arrive at 10.00 am for coffee (£1.95) and a short talk. Lunch could be sandwiches in the cafe or your own picnic in the beautiful gardens.
Next we visit the moated Elizabethan Oxburgh Hall with priest hole, embroidery by Mary Queen of Scots and many other treasures. Entry is free to NT members, otherwise £9.80 payable on entry. There is a tea room for refreshments.
